Has anyone had to have their son's circumcision done like 2 weeks or so after they were born? If so, how did you care for it at home? He was bleeding a bunch last night and I called the pediatrician (but, the pediatrician didn't do the circumcision...it was my OB that did my c-section). She gave me some advice, told me I could use a&d or neosporin (sp?). I'm wondering if I can use a cleansing spray so I don't have to rub on it and hurt him. I use bactine on my c-section site...I don't think it would hurt him.
@hippiebaby89, I can't find the cream but I guess use the cream the doctor recommends
@hippiebaby89, I had it done by a rabbi - their basically experts in this stuff they do it all the time ... He told us to put a cream ( I'll take a pic of it ) on a Q tip because I was afraid to hurt my son , and to put a good amount on the penis OR you can also put the cream on the gauze and place it gently on the penis and wrap it around . If they bleed a little it's okay - when you take off the old gauze .
You put the Vaseline onto the gauze and then fold it in half and let the excess go through. Then you wrap it around the penis
They told me to do what I did in the hospital so his diaper doesn't stick to it and make it bleed. @hippiebaby89
OB said to use vasoline, but it's hard to get on. Pediatrician said use a&d, That works...but I want to clean it. I wasn't told to use gauze by either. I'm so confused. I don't want him to start bleeding again if I clean it with a wipe
A whole lot of Vaseline like douse the gauze on it or the gauze will stick to the skin and cause a whole lot of pain to you and him when you go to remove it!
When my son was circumcised, I put the Vaseline cream stuff of a piece of gaze and laid it on his little wiener, it healed fast and didn't hurt him since I was never actually touching it.
ok. I mean I used a squirt bottle to clean it and put a lot of ointment on it. I'll have to get gauze I don't think I have any. thank you ladies
