Does it hurt the baby when their umbilical cord starts to fall off? And also is it supposed to bleed when it falls off

Some times it bleeds a little and gets crusty, did you get a paper on how to clean it?

No it doesn't hurt them at all when it falls off

@ak16, no I didn't get a paper but my mom said to keep it clean and dry. To use rubbing alcohol but we don't have any so we've had to use a warm wash cloth that's a little wet

Ok jus don't submerge it under water and keep it out of the diaper so no pee gets on it.

@beccamorgan28 No it doesn't hurt all the is dead material. Go out and get alcohol now you're not suppose to wet the umbilical. Your hospital (nurses) should've provided you with alcohol wipes and told you the proper way to clean it.
