I may sound dumb for this but what is a recieving blanket?

The thin blankets like what they wrap baby in at the hospital

I think they provide one. You should bring a couple more with you just in case you need to roll them up and put them in the car seat with baby so they don't have too much room to be jumbled around in the car

is it the same thing as a swaddler?

@rdeezy, you can use them to swaddle baby but usually swaddlers have the Velcro where the receiving blankets don't have that. @dollfacenanii you're welcome(:

You can use them to swaddle also as burping cloths let me tell u as a mom of 4 u can never have to many of them lol

The hospital will usually provide with as many as you ask for! But they aren't very cute! I will most likely use my hospital ones as burp cloths! 👌🏻
