Okay I asked this earlier but no one answered. I had a doctor appointment today and my blood pressure was high and I had some protein in my urine so my doctor said if it hasn't gotten any better by the time I go for my next appointment on Friday that she is going to induce me. What should I expect when being induced?

Depends on how much you have dilated. With my daughter I got induced, but I was 4cm and had her within 6hrs. Every induction is different just like every pregnancy

If you have high blood pressure and protein in your urine you might have preeclampsia which is why she would want to induce you for safety of the baby and you

she said it isn't preeclampsia yet but could result in that if it gets any worse @reaganmommy2015

Just like a PP said it depends on how dilated you are when you go in. If your cervix is closed they will want to ripen your cervix with medication you have put up near your cervix or you can take it orally. If your already dilated you may start pitocin.

Is this your first baby? Did she say anything about your cervix at your appointment i.e. effacement?

yes this is my first baby. she said I'm not dilated so I assume I'm not effaced any either.. she didn't say anything about that. @ezrasmommy

You can efface before you dilate but if she didn't say anything probably not. It will depend on how they want to proceed and what type of induction they find most favorable. It can take a few days also. Some women it doesn't but be prepared it can be a long process. I wish you the best though.
