When do doctors start checking you to see how far dilated & effaced you are?

Mine didn't check until I was 39 weeks

36 week check up, I believe. But I'm not 100% abt tht ...

I've seen a ton of women getting checked at 36w but my dr never offered until 39w then told me if I didn't want it done we didn't have to

They just use their fingers and feel for your cervix. They push them back until they can feel for it
