I love it it's the best decision I've ever made. One extra bag, for free hands. My son could nurse for hours, and I am a busy mom with things to do. So he can eat his bottle within 10 minutes and be good as can be and I can finish what I have to do (:

@meganc, I just wish we had the option to NOT carry around milk...I wish she would latch plus it'd be nice if she would latch at home at least so I don't have to be hooked up to a darn pump so often

Yeah I'm with yeah on that one pumping is time consuming and can get really annoying at time. Especially since sometimes I have to pump in the bathroom at work and ateast three people are asking what that noise is lol. I hope she latches soon for you and once she starts a little your milk will eventually flow fast enough for her.

@meganc, we're 5 months in and she's suuuuuper used to the speed of a bottle so I'm hoping if I try this trick when she's not really hungry that she'll realize milk is coming out and will want to latch

Whatttt I'm using a shield and he only latches if I dribble milk into his cheeks! Maple syrup is safe?

@tracynangel, I only used like a dab plus she's nearly 6 months old so her tummy can handle more than Ezra's...milk doesn't work for her she needs extra convincing but I gotta find a way to keep her suckling once the maple syrup is gone im thinking of switching back and forth between a bottle and the shield when she's not super hungry might help

@tracynangel, I got the idea bc one of my friends had the opposite problem with her daughter (she wouldn't take a bottle) so they used sugar water to trick her..well I can't put sugar water in my boob but I can make the shield a little sweeter 😉

That's so cool! Can newborns have that though?

@tracynangel, eek I dunno hun; I don't wanna advise you the wrong way😁😁 I know hospital nurseries sometimes give a baby sugar water but I don't wanna tell you it's ok cause I'm not sure

@tracynangel, hopefully you won't be having latching issues at this age! Breastfeeding has had such a rough start for us bc of her tongue tie and awful lactation consultants and my fiancée convincing me to just pump and give up on latching since she freaks out so much but I just keep thinking about how she will probably be my only baby and how I realllly wanna experience what it's like to actually have a happy baby at the breast (she's always happy except when I'm trying to get her to latch then it's like WWIII broke out)

Yes! Ezra freaks out when I try to latch him so I just stop. I didn't know latch issues can happen at an older age!

@tracynangel, she's had latch issues since she was born...she was tongue tied and it took almost 2 weeks to get it corrected so by that point she had a bottle but I kept trying to get a latch and she would scream push off of me cry real tears (which is heartbreaking) turn completely red and stop breathing..I quit trying and exclusively pumped at a month old tried again at 3 months stopped trying after 2 weeks and now at 5.5 months we're trying AGAIN I've been reading a lot about teaching an older baby to latch and am gunna try my best to get a latch not sure how it's gunna go yet but I really wanna experience actual breastfeeding since we've never got a really good latch

@tracynangel, girl I'm hopeful that it'll work I guess the most important part is to stay positive and happy while trying to get a latch bc getting tense, upset, and stressed makes it worse since baby can sense it just don't give up trying until you're ready to...I think we wouldn't have such a hard time if I would've kept at it and ignored what other people had to say about it
