I am in workforce feel free to message me if needed. basically most companies give u the standard 6 weeks it's a us/federal law. it'll be paid if you've been employed continually 12 months as a full time employee to meet the hourly requirements. if you have you also take up to 4 months fmla this protects your job. if you live in an at will state yes you may be terminated if your leave extends beyond the 6 weeks period.

@kcal12, yes it's different and each company is usually different. I am going to call my HR dept tomorrow, just really frustrated at work.

I think it's different out here in ca I know the stuff can be confusing took me a while to get everything figured out.
