@trezelle, my mom put her husband first and still do to this day and none of her kids associate with her really. she put us last all the time so I know what you mean. i do not want my kids to feel left out. ! so yes i understand and do agree.

Exactly my point!! Glad you get what I'm saying. Girl I grew up in a house where the man was put first and since I was the step child he put his kids first so you can only imagine what that was like.. I don't want my kids to feel how I felt.

@threekings101415, experiencing that allowed me to see life the way I do now. I'd feed my family before me but my kids would def get a different treatment. My man won't be below them but he would need to understand that my kids are my flesh and blood!

I remember one time we all were playing a game in my house (mom step dad and siblings) and the question came up "if you were on a boat and it was sinking who would you save first husband or kids"... My mom said "husband cause she can have more kids with him later".... That answer has never left my mind! Funny thing is she and her "husband" aren't even together anymore. My child(ren) ALWAYS come first! At the end of the day if I was to die my man can find another chick my kids can't ever have another blood mother..

@karnawest, me and my husband has never thought about it either.. we dont even think like that, cause like you said we are a family we do everything as a family but if was to be my kids over my husband it would be my kids.. and you have all your life to put your husband first. your kids will grow up like you said. but i just dont see my husband coming before my kids. my momma wont even come before my kids. ! my opinion.

My husband and I never even thought about " putting" Children before each other.... We raise them together, we play with them together, we do a lot as a family because we enjoy our little family... We definitely make time for just us though. I know when we are having our issues we always remove our children from our situation (fight) and talking through our stuff and fix our problems... Our children will only be children for a short time in our life time so we don't want to miss anything... But, your spouse will be with you (in theory) the rest of your life so that relationship is important as well... I just have a hard time saying one trumps the other....

@threekings101415 exactly my grandmother and mother raised me that kids come first no matter what...when you have family events what do they say "everybody fix your kids plates first than the adults will eat after." like you said you can be doing everything right at home and the man will still step out and chest just bc he wanted too
