Each bead is individually tied off and the twisty thing that holds it together will break if ever he got caught on something and I can't imagine anything he could get caught on

Some people take it off for baths and sleeping but I don't... It's Amber so it's ancient fossilized tree "juice" and when they wear it releases analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties! I can't guarantee it works but for us it seems to anyways! There are still some bad days but at least it's not every day! And for 8$ it's worth it! And he looks adorable with it on! My little surfer dude
