Since I have moved in here, I have had a love hate relationship with my neighbor. So about two months ago he asked for our WIFI password because he was running low on data on his phone. Which I don't know why the hell he didn't get a bigger package or is lying about it. He always talks about you need to see of you can get this and that, help wise, like find someone with food stamps and so on. So that labeled him a mooch. Good guy just finds ways around everything. So I had to reset our router two weeks ago and the guy just asked us this week for our password again. I mean he gives us food and we give them food too. So I was like ok, but it's the last time. Last night I put parental controls on his phone in our router, with time usage hours. I didn't get pissed till I found out he was going to put the password in a laptop they have. Does anyone think I over acted?

Not at all! I wouldn't even give anyone who isn't living w/ me or family my WiFi password lol.

I don't think you did. You guys have to pay for internet they shouldn't just get to use it for free.

Yeah it really isnt. I get that he gives you things & you do the same but if you did reset your router & he asked for it again it isn't really fair. That bothers me what he's been saying and asking of you!

I would reset your router again & change the name of your WiFi and then just be like "oh we don't use WiFi anymore " or something like that lol.

@zarietysmommy120215, I would do that, but in a apartment you can walk around outside and find out if you still have your wifi on. Which we are going to turn our ssid off when I get a computer running here.

I would change the password and the name of the WIFI if he comes and ask you for the password say sorry we decided to get rid of it we weren't using it

@reaganmommy2015, I would do that but he knows we use Netflix and hulu for tv service. I just changed it two weeks ago and honestly locking him down, he can still connect but only get service at set hours. So it looks like he connected but this time I was going to say, well you are connected but it must be your phone. lol

Also if he's doing anything illegal via the internet it looks as if you guys r doing it bc he's using ur wifi.....not saying he is BUT that's very real.

Yea I know that. Then they look into ip addresses and fine it wasn't us.

@autocadchick2004, So if you don't mind me asking.... Why do you feel like you owe him your password when YOU pay that bill NOT him? You share food okay it should end there. And he should have more respect and standards for himself than to ask if he can sponge your stuff. I would just be straight up and say listen I can't give you our password anymore unless you want to split the bill. I mean what's the worst that could happen? I mean he can't eat you!!! ;) Just some food for thought!!
