Got my Sonoline b today, I'm a little over 17 weeks and it took me about 25 min to even find a beat and I had to push pretty hard. Also at my 13 week ultrasound baby's heart beat was 155 and now at 17 weeks its reading 132, does that sound right?

It is hard to find😒and yeah the heart beat depends on their activity. Sometimes they are hyper lol anywhere between 130 to 170 is normal.

Exactly the same boat! My baby's low too like right on the pubic bone. I'm 17.3 & all is well 😊🙌

@nini2015, one thing to remember, placenta flow can easily be mistaken for the fetal heart beat. It's a significantly slower beat than the baby's and ranges in the 130's.
Here is a great site you can go to which provides audio examples so you can hear the difference between placenta, mommy's blood flow and baby's heartbeat!

Happy Doppler listening! =)

I wonder if I even picked up the heartbeat then. I thought i did. I sounded like a heart beat but you pick up so many other noises too on there

@nini2015, - You may very well have... trick is to go extremely slow around your pelvic area...keep the Doppler in one area and move it in a circular motion (without moving the actual end of the Doppler)...you will need to be patient...don't freak out if it takes you awhile. Try to have an empty bladder as we to be less "cushioned". Give it a break after 10-15 minutes if you can't find it... then try again later. Once you find the slower beat..you should find the faster one very close by...that's your little ones heartbeat!

Do you have to push a little harder? @babyhawkins2015 I feel like I had to put a little pressure on it

@nini2015, the last time I had to put more pressure then usual! once you're further along, it won't be as hard and you won't need to push as hard. I have an anterior placenta!

I do as well! I haven't felt the baby move yet because of it 😔 @ngujen when did you feel him move?

@nini2015, - Yup, forgot to mention that too. just don't push to the point that you are hurting. Next appointment you go to, try to remember the area the dr finds the baby's heartbeat...it will kind of help you understand where your little one likes to hide.
I have an anterior placenta as well but now that I am a little further along, I don't have to push as hard.

@nini2015, like constant movements? not until around like 24+ weeks. But I started feeling her move a couple times earlier. :) You'll be able to feel the baby move soon! you might be mixing up the flutters with gas lol. I did before I noticed. I felt flutters around 17+ weeks. Try drinking some orange juice :) that's how I started feeling her move.

I feel like I pushed a little harder than I should have because now it's a little sore lol. Next time I definitely will be a little more gentle! I will definitely pay attention at my next appt. when did you start feeling your little one since you have an anterior placenta as well @babyhawkins2015

Lol that's a possibility! I will definitely catch up on some juice drinking and see if that does the trick😊 @ngujen

@nini2015, I started to feel little bubbles in my 17th week but only on my left side... then I found out I had a right side anterior placenta which made alot of sense why I felt movements on my left and not my right. now, I feel kicks everywhere and much higher.

@nini2015, I use to think it was gas haha. But then I actually had gas and was like wait... but hope you feel the baby soon! Don't worry too much, once you're further a long, you'll feel her/him more often. Some days, she still isn't as active as she usually is. I try not to freak myself out, but it's hard sometimes since I had a miscarriage a couple years ago. But, I hope you have a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby! 😊

I wish I would have been told what side the anterior placenta was on, would make things a lot easier 😊 @babyhawkins2015
