Ladies, have any of you had a midwife during your pregnancy? I have one and I love her but I'm…

I have a midwife right now, no doctor tho. She will do everything in the delivery room. The only thing she cannot do is a c-section, if needed. From what I've been told, a midwife is there for you through the majority (if not the whole) process whereas a doctor only comes in for the actually delivery.

Could be.. the office I go to does not assign a doctor with your midwife. If I happen to need a c-section I'll get whichever doctor is on at the time. I'm so happy to have a midwife. She's great and they really are more about you, your baby, and you're overall well-being. :)

Reading this and I might have a midwife for my next pregnancy since I went all natural anyways I sure would like a midwife instead

Yeah I've noticed that . I switched from a doctor to my midwife at about 14 weeks and she has been amazing since. She always takes all the time in the world with me . So ok I'm glad I had no idea that she would be spending more time with me during labor vs a doctor . That makes me happy because I knew the doc would only show face when it was show time and other than that the nurses would be caring for me .

Yes, she'll definite be with you more throughout the labor and delivery process whereas the doctor comes in when it's time. This is actually my first, so I'm no expert, but my sister had a doctor with her first and a midwife with her second. She completely set me up with her midwife because of the wonderful experience she had with her and so far my hubby and I are very happy with her!

I have a midwife and only a midwife! that's what I had my 1st 2 pregnancies as well. they are amazing they are with you the whole way through. the only thing they can't do is a c-section but they should have a Dr that steps in if you end up needing that. I would never chose anyone over a midwife!!! ❤

i had one with my first all i remember that she did was basically give me support. and help with whatever my dr needed.
