I'm thinking of having a home birth this time round 4th baby. What's anyones experience on a home birth and what pain relief is available? x
planning home birth with #5 much to my consultants disgust!!! don't listen to anyone who tries to scare you out of it.... unless you have a genuine risk factor then go for it. many women labour more effectively and less painfully in their own surroundings
oh dear) you are brave girl... my mum had home birth and only because ambulance didn't come due to storm... my husband and his twin brother were born at home too.... but it was soo long time ago)
I am sure now it's more safe now) what does your midwife thinks abouy it??
i had a home birth for my 2nd and nearly my 3rd ( got rushed into hospital for her to arrive 20mins later) hopefully will have one this time. u can have a tens machine and gas and air, water pool if u like but thats up to you. well more relaxed, after the 1st home birth theres no looking back. i hated being in hospitalwith my 1st baby xx
My labours are fast and I hate being in hospital (unless I really need to) think I would be comfy at home. That's good I only want gas and air. With my second I didn't plan a home birth and only just made it to hospital got there at 9.15pm had him 15-20mins after. Don't know if I would pick it if it was my first baby lol @oweatherby my midwife doesn't advise it as my BMI isn't (normal) but it's up to me and iv had 3 really good pregnancy and births last baby was 7lb 4oz and healthy xx
