My OB suggested I start thinking about a birth control to use once baby is here.. I am seriously considering Mirena. Does anyone have any experience with this method or have one they liked a lot? I'm really leaning towards an IUD, never had one before though
Not telling you not to get the mirena but I had terrible cramps with it and pain during imtercorse.
Thank you all for the comments, I did a lot of reading into it but it's always good to hear from those who actually used it.
I had the mirena and had it removed... you either love it or hate it. Mine gave me terrible mood swings abdominal pain.
I have the Mirena. All I've heard is bad stories too, but it was all my insurance would cover. It's done alright so far, I suppose. I've been getting headaches(which I think are caused by other things too) and dizzy spells every now and then. And weird pressure in my stomach. I thought my insides were falling out when I first got it, cause there was chunks of nasty looking stuff coming out, but I think it may've just been weird looking blood. It stopped after 2 days. They pretty much told me stick to wearing pads as well. I hate pads, and I've been bleeding/spotting for almost 2 weeks straight. So nothing too terribly bad going on over here. Besides that, it's alright. I have a dr's apt here soon to make sure it's still in place. Hopefully it doesn't move around as easy as I've heard
Your welcome. If u are considering the IUD the mirena is the best my Dr doesn't recommend the ones in the arms he said they are the worse they were really popular when they first came out and every patient that got one came back 6-8 months later to get it removed but that his experience with those just talk to ur Dr at ur 6 week pp check up and see what he/she suggest are the best options for u and go.from there. I haven't had any serious problems with mine and my SIL had the same thing and loved it as well
I have looked into it and it said the percent chance of something bad happening are very low, but something can happen with anything :)
I didn't want to worry about taking anything either! I want no chance of having another baby any time soon until we're in a better place. Thank you for input! @santistevanmommie @wyatts_mommy_0106
I have the Mirena I.love it the only problem I have had with is my hubby hitting the strings but my Dr finally got the cut back enough and it takes about 5 months for ur period to regulate in the beginning I got 2-3 periods a month but I like it cause it last 5 years and I don't have to sorry about a pill or anything
a few people I know have had it and they complained of frequently getting vaginosis
