I'm 33 weeks and my sons kicks aren't very hard...like everyone else says their kicks are painful and in the ribs but his aren't painful or dramatic. is something wrong?

No. My daughters kicks are rarely painful and she never kicks my ribs. As long as you have movement it's alright. At 33wks baby is running out of room and some babies will still kick a lot and hard and others will kick less and not hard at all.
mine haven't been hard or painful for a while. growing baby is growing outta womb space! I thought something was wrong too, but my little bug is fine. usually some cold water gets her going and kicking hard...try that maybe? but its usual. don't worry😊
