hi mommies my baby boy is 6 days old and im contemplating on rather or not i should get him circumcised or not but later on down the line i dont want to feel like a bad mom if i don't get it done, but as of now hes so little and he is my baby boy i dont want to hurt him :( what do i do?
you one said you should feel bad about it and that's why in my first post I said she should Google it and decide from there. of course there OK with it because as an adult male you can not get it done @emmaanne
Actually my boyfriend and all of his brothers are totally happy not having it done. They are perfect the way they are. It's not as serious as people make it. @cp I did a lot of research before making my decision and after talking to my doctors I decided against it. I think my decision was great and I will never feel bad about it.
sorry @emmaanne no one decided one day it's actually I'm the bible. and yes there are a lot of men that don't have it done but I bet their parents would have gotten it done. the reason they don't get it done as adults is because there has to basically be a life or death situation
I got my oldest done and I plan on it work this baby. really is up to you... you have to teach him how to pull the skin back every time he pees to make sure he cleans it right so he doesn't get an infection. you should Google pros and con's of getting it done an not getting it done then decide from there because you'll get more information than we can give you
With both my boys I got it done at the hospital when they were born. Didn't take that long and they slept a lot afterwards. Just kept a lot of Vaseline around for diaper changes. Do what you think is best for you and your son
The American academy of pediatrics says the benefits outweigh the risks. I've done it for 2 of my boys and will do it for my third. It is ultimately your decision, but it's always good to be informed
I didn't do it. I know plenty of men that never had it done. There's absolutely nothing wrong with not getting it done. It's the way it's supposed to be someone decided one day that it was normal to cut it but why fix something that was never broken? Do your research before making your decision based on the fact that everyone does it.
@kenecia, I have 3 boys and I'm currently pregnant with my 4th speaking from experience I say get it done now it takes about a week to heal but you and him will more than likely be used to it by day 3... you'll be a pro at changing him and he'll be a pro at getting it changed and cleaned...
he act like nothing happened just be careful changing his diaper @kenecia
It's up to you. But he won't remember it now my son actually slept threw his.
as moms we make decisions that we think are best for our children we will make mistakes along the way but we weren't given a handbook at birth
@jabarismommy, how did he act afterwards? was he snappy? cranky lack of sleep?
Get it down while he's little so when he's older he won't have to worry about the pain & bacteria
I say do it now while he is so little bc it's a surgery and takes like twenty minutes. the pros of it is it's more sanitary and he will have less problems later cons the extra skin will get thicker the older he gets and it will be hard to clean causing bacterial infections !
its your decision ... I got my son circumsiced it only took like 10 mins and keep Vaseline on his penis for a long time (like 2 weeks)
It's better if you decided to do it when he is a newborn (he won't remember it happening) cause later down the line it will hurt more for him.
Omg really? Please google it.
