I get so confused when people say Gender when they want to find out what they are having at a scan…

No gender means masculine or Feminine @123tommyanddorismew At a scan you aren't looking for masculinity or Feminity. You are looking for the Biological Sex of your baby Vulva/Penis. So really you should say sex not gender.

gender is a set of characteristics to either sex... penis or vagina being one of them.. therefore contributing to a gender. youre looking into it too much.

Gender is to do with characteristics of a male or female but does not include the genitals. My biological sex is different from my gender. I'm more masculine and not that feminine really. Like I like things that a typical male would like. I would never be called a girly girl. On the other hand my sisters are more feminine because like makeup etc and I'm not into that stuff. This is why when a male starts acting feminine he is called Homosexual because he's acting out of his 'gender role' I hate the term gender role anyway. Sometimes you hear that a man is not a man because he doesn't act as Masculine as he should do. I'm not looking into it too much. I'm just going by what I've learnt and understand.

No legally gender means male or female....On legal forms etc they ask your gender....biologically your gender is male or female no matter what your characteristics and personality is like

Well ok. But I would want to look at the sex of my baby not the gender. Sex is to do with Biological differences. Males and Females are Biologically different. So rather than looking for my babys gender, I will be looking for its biological sex. For a Penis or Vulva (Internal/external sex organs) Penis and Vulva is was relates to sex and that's what the sonographer looks for in a scan. They aren't looking to see if your baby is masculine or Feminine.

When you fill out forms that say gender do you write masculine ?!?! you call it whatever makes you happy. But it is called a gender scan and a gender is male or female.

Yes, I know it's called a gender scan. :) :) :) :) Gender is the characteristics of a male or female. That's why you get called male or female :)
