My son doesn't sleep well on his back. He does good on his side and last night we tried him on his stomach. He did great and through the night. But I'm still afraid of the whole SIDS things with him sleeping on his stomach. Anyone else let their child sleep on their stomachs before they were supposed to?

The nursing pillow is what she used? @katemeier this may sound like a dumb question but how did she lay him. Long ways. With his head on one side and his legs on the other end?
@maxs_mommy80
Yes. I'm sure he will be fine. Thanks @mass_mommy80 ...
of course SIDS will be in the back of your head, your a mom lol. and you're welcome
Thanks @helpedbytmh
That's the same thing my mom said. She put me to sleep on my belly when I was a baby. He's a strong baby. Things that he does at a month old most babies aren't doing. Like I say he sleeps oh so good on the tummy. Lol. You said you started at your daughter at 2 weeks and she's fine. I'm just now starts my son. I think I'll keep doing it. Even in the day also. SIDS will still be in the back of my head. He will be alright though. @helpedbytmh
My cousin laid her son on his tummy with a boppy pillow.... now he's a champ at tummy sleeping
@squizzy843, u right every child is different. My son can also hold up his head, he knew already around 1week. But still not as good as when they really learn to hold up their head for a long time. But if he can lift his head while on his tummy and switch sides than Im sure its fine.
I've been putting my baby on her belly to sleep since she was about 2 weeks. shes actually asleep on her belly right now lol. she sleeps better that way. im nor afraid of SIDS. My mother said she put me on my belly to sleep before they knew anything about SIDS and I'm perfectly fine. Also babies who are breastfed are less likely to have SIDS as well, but that doesn't even matter either because I was exclusively formula fed and I'm still alive lol. I say do what makes you confident and comfortable
Yes I do nap time on his tummy also.
My son is only a month and he can hold his head up. When we put him on his tummy last night he was able to lift his head and switch sides.. Which surprised me. Like I said he sleeps good on his side. One morning I woke up and he had rolled over to his tummy. And he was doing just fine. I don't know. I just want to get some good sleep because I go back to work tomorrow. Just wanted to know what the other ladies do. Because every child is different. @maxs_mommy80
But I do let him sometimes nap on his tummy while Im there watching him. So he learns to be on his tummy
I was told not to put my son to sleep on his tummy until he can hold up his head. I only let my son sleep on the side, sometimes on his back.
