i have no idea why it varies so much. ive noticed a lot of differences by reading what people say on here. like, we dont see our gps at all. when we find out we're pregnant we email our details to the midwife booking office and they ring us up and arrange to come to our home at about 9 weeks and they post us a blood test form. we see midwife at 9, 16 and 28 weeks. then nearer the end of pregnancy we see midwife every fortnight, then every week. that's a normal pregnancy around here lol (im high risk so i have lots of appointments with consultants at the hospital but i only have a couple of extra midwife appointments) xx

I will be about 20 weeks when I next see my midwife :/ So 5 months pregnant! :0 :0 :0 She said I will be seeing my GP at 16 weeks. I'm so confused :/ Why Is the care so different depending on where you live? Shouldn't it all be the same? I mean if you are considered high risk you generally get seen more frequently. I'm not high risk. I mean my BMI is a little high. But she didn't seem too concerned about it. My heart rate and blood pressure were completely fine :) :) Haven't heard anything from my blood tests yet so guessing everything is fine. I just thought your midwife saw you more often... I mean how can you get to know them and feel comfortable with them delivering your baby etc? I plan to give birth in the birth centre. So I will have minimal interference from midwives. But it's still nice to have someone you know more personally :) @essex-angel @elisabetesantos

i saw my midwife at 9 weeks at home for her to take details and fill in my notes, then didnt see her again until 16 weeks. each area seems really different 😕 xx

I had it taken afterwards..i always saw my midwife every 4 weeks :/ x

i had my blood taken first, then the scan. how many weeks will u be when u next see ur midwife? xx

Yeah, September!! :0 It is a long time! Well two months :) but still :) I will be seeing my GP in the middle :) @elisabetesantos

So they take the blood after the scan? :) :) I just want to get it done to reassure myself and not worry too much :) :) My midwife did say that you can have a down syndrome baby at any age. But the older you are the higher the risk is. Especially if you are over 35. I've only turned 20 so the chances are low. But I still need to check for other abnormalities and any congenital heart conditions :) :)

I did the scan and afterwards took blood and then got a letter saying the chances of him having down syndrome... Only in september ? :O thats a long time !

I had some blood taken at my booking appointment :) :) I next see my midwife in September :0 I think that's a very long time to not see her! She said I will see my GP at 16 weeks.

As well as any congenital heart problems :)
