π¨Questionπ¨
My son had an appointment yesterday with the GI to make sure everything was OK with his Acid Reflux (I was yayyyy!)
but I ended up asking him is my son (3 months old) suppose to still waking up every 3 hours to feed....even at night. He said no, then he ask me how much I was feeding him I said 3oz...he asked me why so little. i told him the DUMB ASS ER NURSE told me when i was feeding him 4oz it was too much...he kindly informed me that he is suppose to b drink around 5-6 ounces (poor baby I been starving him π) so yesterday on our way home he started crying because he was hungry I gave him 2 oz on the go and another 3 when we got home ( about 30 mind after the 2oz) he slept for 4 hours. His next bottle we gave him 5 oz, he sleep for 6 hrs basically thru the night. Now today during the day I still been given him the 5oz but he still been waking up every 3 hours. I was wondering am I still suppose to feed him every 3? I haven't.... I been letting him cry it out til he falls asleep about an hour and feed him again at the 4th hour ...because I don't want to over feed him. Is he waking up and crying because he's actually hungry ( he's not chewing his hands).... or because he's so use to the every 3 hours?!?! His doctor said give him the 5 and eventually space out his feeding, but am I suppose to space it out for him or let him do it on his own? ( mind you I have the type of baby that's I'll eat as long as you keep feeding him he doesn't care if he's full or not)
Well if ur feeding formula it stretches their stomach compared to a breastfeeding baby...so he might need more to fill full. I say go by baby cues if he shows interest feed him. I wouldnt make him wait if he wants it. He will turn away when hes full or throw it up.
