So I have a year old cat and we are expecting our first baby in Oct. I have a couple family members worried that the cat will harm or the hairs will affect the baby. I really love my cat and the last thing I want to do is give him away. Anyone have any advice or have any cats and kids?

I have 3 cats, they won't harm the baby. don't let them jump in the bed with the baby and make sure your house is clean and you'll be fine. all 3of my cats are inside.

I have 3 cats. and they didn't even do anything like that with my son.. when my son was little the oldest cat would sleep with him in his crib.. and now that I am about to have another one in 3 weeks. they are all over me, they can tell I am pregnant. I have heard from many people they will be up your butt when you go into labor.

yes.. the one cat is really mine and she doesn't like me but she has been laying with me during the night and she will lay right next to my belly. most of the cats also go in the bathroom with me also. I don't think I have ever gone to the bathroom without a cat in there with me. @sweettart93

my cats do the exact same and have become so vocal, when I go to leave they follow me to the door meowing. only reason not to let them sleep with them at first is suffocation. once the baby is able to turn it's head on it's own I wouldn't worry much but my cats when they cuddle they go straight to the face.
