To the moms who already have kids . How did you introduce your new addition to any dogs you had at home ? I have two small dogs one chihuahua and one Pomchi . I've read that it's good to take a baby blanket to the hospital and let the baby sleep in it for a few hours then have someone take it home and put it with the dogs in a contained area so they can't get too far from the scent . But I don't normally lock my pups up so I don't want it to be a negative thing for them. I may seem crazy but I love my furbabies !! Help!!!

Just have hubby or someone bring the blanket home and allow the dogs to smell it for awhile, it won't take long for them to get to know the smell. Then when you come home each of you come in and greet the dogs so they are calm when you bring in baby. When you bring in baby sit down on the couch with baby and allow the dogs to meet the baby with hubby close to you so he can pull the dogs away if they get over excited for freaked out.

@santistevanmommie, that's actually really good advise . Thank you . I wasn't sure what to do . My dogs are really bad with chance lol so I'm just worried about them not recognizing . But that sounds promising

My pug can be unpredictable as well but that is what I'll be doing. And if they already recognize that you're pregnant they may do better than you think. And you're welcome
