the only way I'd keep my child away from his father is if he is abusive in some way. if he chose not to be with me that isn't a reason to keep him away from his child. give him the opportunity to be a father even if he isn't with you.

I completely agree. Unless he has somehow given me reason that he would harm the child, he has every right to see his child. It's just as much the father's child. My Fiancé and I have had this talk. My dad trued to get full custody to hurt my mom and in the end that only hurts the kids.
exactly! I wouldn't want to pay child support for a kid a mother is selfishly keeping from me either! why would you expect a man to give you money to support a child he doesn't have rights to!

Mommas who are separated from their childrens dad. If my sons father is to get our son every other Friday-Sunday, but then tells me halfway through the week he can't take him Friday until Saturday due to taking up an optional shift at work, can I legally tell him he either takes him Friday at his ordered time or doesn't get him? exactly! I would never use my child(ren) as a pawn to hurt someone. the only reason to keep a child away from someone is safety. nothing more. @tierlarie
