Anybody know why it would be medically necessary to have an electric breast pump instead of manual? I'm trying to get the hook up through my insurance company :P

I never got a prescription for it I just contacted the insurance company but insurance company are different. You shouldn't need a medical reason I believe it falls under the Obama act (not 100% sure about that) I had a hand pump with my first and trust me you want an electronic one! lol

You can tell your ob you want an electric one when they fill the paperwork out ! No medical reason needed.

Your ob should give you a prescription even if baby does latch they usually still help you get a pump through your insurance
