Can someone explain to me why they say you are pregnant for nine months when you are pregnant for 40 weeks? Either my math is off or I'm confused. 40 weeks is 10 months...no?

@cloughgal, it's actually because they calculate your ovulation time and everything into it. so technically the first month your not really pregnant, you just concieved more than likely towards the end of that first month calculation.
Yeah it's bull just like "morning" sickness. I had that shit morning noon and night!

I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
Let me help some of you Mommies. I see that some do not know how to convert their weeks into months....🙄 Divide your weeks by 4. Ex: if you are 37 weeks that mean divide it by 4 which = 9 months and 1week pregnant. Because 4*9 =36 and you still would have a remainder of 1 left so that number left over is considered the weeks you are..... So that mean you are 9 months and 1 week pregnant. No - there are 4.3 weeks in a month. There aren't any months besides February - that are exactly 4 weeks or 28 days (30-31 typically) so technically the girls above me aren't taking into account the extra days. That's why there are 5 weeks of every last month of each trimester.
