What's The Earliest To Have Your Baby & Baby Still Be Healthy ?
# COMMENT !
@angelmommy, you answered my question perfect thanks ..
Depends, but around 36 and 37 weeks they wont stop your labor.
what do u mean by risks? when he was born he had to be resuscitated because he wasn't breathing. his heart rate would drop (bradys) that's why he was on the apnea monitor. he had to eat through a feeding tube til about 2 weeks before he came home. he is anemic so he is on iron medicine. choosing to have your baby any earlier than 37-38 weeks there will always be a risk for them to have issues. and even being born at 37-38 weeks there are risks.
and not every baby at 24 weeks survives. my brothers son was born at 24 weeks and lived an hour. his daughter was born at 25 weeks and she has cerebral palsy
@angelmommy, were there any risk ?
I had my son at 31 weeks he had some issues and was in the nicu for 5 weeks. he had to come home on an apnea monitor but was only on it for about 3-4 weeks. he is a healthy happy 5 month old now
We'll if that's the case your doctor would know when is best to take the baby out. Even at 30 weeks there are risk because baby is not fully developed. Your doctor will weigh the risk whether it's best to take the baby or leave it there
my doctor said that you can have your baby at 24 weeks and it will survive
37 weeks is considered Term 39-40 weeks is Full Term !
@caydensmommy, nope 36 that's why you start going to doctors every week at that point so they can check progress cuz you could come naturally at any time
my Dr told me 37 weeks was full term...my sister had hers at 35 weeks and baby was in the NICU for almost a month.
Waiting till 36 weeks baby would be fully developed and less chance of complications and shouldn't have any nicu time unless other causes. Best for baby to wait as long as possible so he/she has time to be fully developed and not need extra help to survive outside
@sarabrewer04, yeah but that's too early the baby would be in nicu. Can survive but unless life threatening doctors won't do that early
I thought 39 weeks was considered full term because they changed it? @ambarrett
@ambarrett, I will be sure to ask .
@sarabrewer04, I'm 30 weeks now ..
24 weeks I believe but that's with a doctor doing everything they can do to help it. I have seen many people have their baby that early and survive
Well they consider full term to be at 36 weeks but your doctor should be able to tell you the earliest they feel comfortable scheduling it
@ambarrett, cause I have to schedule my c section cause of health issues & I wanted to do it as early as possible ..
They say baby is considered full term at 36 weeks and can come at any time after that
