Yep! I agree with the girls above. Most 4 year olds are crazy active and want to be on the go all the time, so it's hard to sit and eat if you have your child restrained in a highchair. Better in a highchair than bugging other customers trying to enjoy their food.

I agree its to contain them. You never know how much grief those parents saved you by strapping their kids in

Sometimes she does sit in a highchair its out of respect for the other diners and the waitress and waiter @lovemynugget12

My sister sits her one year olds in a high chair ,some places only have high chairs

Why you find it annoying ?

Sometimes it's nice to restrain a child who would normally run around driving everyone crazy. Thankfully for the most part my 4 year old will stay still in a restaurant and sit with us (he's been doing it since he was 2) but I would MUCH rather see a kid my son's age in a high chair rather than see them running around the restaurant while the parents sit at their table eating their food (seriously I've seen people let their brats run around all over the place while they continued to eat & not care).
