Little update on us since it has been a while. I am having a girl, her name will be Liliana Jeanne. At the anatomy scan the doctors saw a two vessel umbilical cord and a calcium deposit in the baby's heart. My pregnancy is now considered high risk and we have appointments every 2 weeks alternating between my regular ob and the high risk maternal fetal medicine specialist. The MFM did an ultrasound last week and said there wasn't a calcium deposit, it is a piece of muscle in her heart that has no risks or abnormalities. Because of the umbilical cord though we will be going back for growth scans every 4 weeks and will have weekly checkups after 34 weeks. Her daddy and I have faith that we will have a happy, healthy little girl and we pray for everything to go smoothly.
I knew it was a low risk thing so we didn't want any testing unless the level 2 ultrasound showed complications. the level 2 ultrasound showed that it wasn't a deposit at all so I'm glad we had declined the testing
My cousin only had 2 umbilical veins when she was pregnant and baby was just fine....I'm sure yours will be healthy and happy as well
congratulations on having a girl. and mfm does good work. I hate when obs make big assumptions so things seem worse when they aren't
