I am crying tears of joy this morning ❤❤❤

I try to keep my opinions that aren't related to pregnancy or my relationship off here but I just can't today. I woke up to all the announcements saying that marriage equality is finally going to happen in all 50 states and I am overjoyed.

I'm a pansexual woman and while the love of my life ended up being male, I wasn't always sure it would and the idea of not being able to marry who I love in my hometown was heartbreaking.

It was heartbreaking to lots of people. One of those people was a very dear friend. He was a good man. Very kind and patient. And he wanted to be married to his boyfriend. When they announced that to everyone, he was met with such difficulty. He met people who told him horrible things and made horrible threats. It's with complete heartbreak that I have to say he killed himself. He couldn't deal with the idea of not being who he was, with who he loved in the city he loved. I don't think suicide is the correct option but to know that he felt no other way around it is just crushing.

So today while I know everyone is not celebrating this victory, I will be. And I know that in heaven my friend is able to rest a bit easier knowing this struggle is over 😇
