How do you get a scan? I dont mind paying for one but how do i go about it and where do i go? x
if you check the website of your booking hospital, they normally state what testing they offer for mums to be....
@catdean15, - downs testing is normally a blood test and a scan which is a basic anatomy check... and measurement of the nuchal space in the neck. you'll see your bean then 😀
@tori27, yeah i had my booking appointment last monday, with bloods, history, etc. I guess i might have to play the waiting game. Although i am due in 2 weeks to get a test for downs syndrome..... i think that is a scan, i hope 😊
If you have then your 20 weeks scan would be right, in between that u wud have shared care & see your GP in between hospital apps, I had my booking scan on 21st May and I'm not back for 20week scan that's 9 weeks in between which is a disgrace. I had a quickassure scan 2 weeks ago, so it's prob best to just pay if you want scanned, go on to ultrasound direct when u book u pay a £30 deposit and then the rest on the day.
@catdean15 have you not had ur booking scan where they take your information medical history bloods ect and scan you ?
My next scan is booked for 20 weeks, thats soooo far away. Think i will go get one booked in early 😊
@catdean15 you & me both, I've had to pay for early gender scan & had a quickassure scan 2 weeks ago, ring up your maternity ward and see when your booking app is, or have you had that?
I have confimed pregnancy and had my last scan at 6 weeks. Im now 10 weeks, i just want to see my lil bambino 😊
Or you can go to a private clinic, Ultrasound Direct they have them all over the UK you can get dating scan go onto their website & have a look and see what suits you best.
@catdean15 oh you must get your anomaly scan early I thought that was only done at 20 weeks, though always go on to the private website if you've got the money I would go for it, the ladies are lovely and give more detail I think, the nhs hospitals just get u in and out as quick as possible x
