I have a question for all the mommies out there! I received a sonogram at my first doctor's appointment to confirm my pregnancy, then a ultrasound at my 20 week appointment, which everything came out great. But since then I have not had any other ultrasounds and I am at 29 weeks. Some of my girlfriends are also pregnant with me and they have received 3-4 ultrasounds, I'm just wondering what is the normal? Am I only going to get one ultrasound of my baby until I actually give birth and see my baby in person, and how come they are able to receive more ultrasounds?! thanks for the advice ahead of time ladies! ♡
This is exactly what I'm going through ...I had one at 7 weeks and then he said I wouldn't have another one until 20 ! 😦 I was a little confused but to ease my Mind and make sure everything is OK I purchased a heartbeat doppler . just to make sure everything is OK myself bc my next ultrasound isn't for months.
I believe it also depends on the obgyn you go to. I was going to one in the beginning of my pregnancy and didn't get a single ultrasound and then I moved to this new place where I get one every 2-4 weeks.
Unless your high risk they don't usually do to many of them with my first son I only had 3 one at 23 weeks 35 weeks and 38 due to measuring big at the end because of extra water . This pregnancy I have had two so far from my doctor one elective i paid out of pocket but because I have marginal cord insertion starting at 28 weeks I have to have one every 4 weeks to monitor growth . I am also paying for a 3D/4D out of pocket at 30 weeks ..
Depends on insurance and Dr, also they won't do a lot of ultrasound unless high risk or something about regular check ups aren't measuring right with the take measure to your belly, maybe request some and you might get more
My insurance covers 80/20 don't think it's about the insurance, but I could be wrong
I think it depends on your insurance I have only had three so far and I'm 26 weeks
with my forat i only got 2 ultrasounds. the first was to confirm it and the other was the anatomy scan.
