Most of the time it's nothing bad or that can't be controlled. My results came back abnormal & I had to do a colposcopy & then a biopsy. The results from my biopsy came back as pre cancerous cells but there's nothing they can do right now since I'm pregnant & it's not a life/death situation. I have to wait till after I give birth & they will do a LEEP procedure on me to remove all those cells. And then I'll be good! You won't all of a sudden get cancer, it's something that if within years you don't take care of, then it could progress into cancer. I was freaking out about that!

I had the same problem @emc229 @scarlettnikol. the dr is gonna check again to see if it cleared up on its own if not they said they can remove the cells in office.

I have the same thing going on as @emc229 got to wait till baby is born for the next step , I was scared like you @scarlettnikol because my mother had cervical cancer but when I told my doctor she told me cervical cancer is not hereditary and the rest can be taken care of so not to worry !

It'll be OK. Like I said, it's not something that will form into immediate cancer within weeks or months. If years go by, and I'm talking like over 8 years or so, then it's something that could progress into cancer if left untreated. They will give you options, just remain calm because stress can shoot down your immune system as well. Pregnancy already lowers it hence why a lot of women get back abnormal pap results.

@simpsonv54, Yep, it can also clear up on it's own! But with me, I have to get that procedure done... yay. @krys I was nervous too... I couldn't get past the word "cancer" and my doc kept telling me I don't have it & I won't get it unless I don't do anything about it for years.

I panicked when the dr first told me they had found mild abnormal cells. I went home and googled everything I could find about it and found its not all that serious. once I calmed myself down I called the dr office and spoke to the nurse. she explained that some women will have mild abnormal cells while pregnant and once they have the baby and you shed cells and what not during the labor that it will sometimes resolve on its own without any treatment. she said worse case scenario is I have the baby and the cells are still abnormal and in that case the dr can remove those cells in office. the only way anything bad can come of it is if you go years without treatment.
