is it OK to take muscle relaxers while pregnant??
most hospitals have a nurse hotline to call when your Dr office is closed if you call your local er they should have a number for you or they may offer you advice themselves just depends on their policies
Benadryl isn't a CNS drug though it's a Diphenhydramine & a category B drug. You should talk to your doc, there's no better judge than him/her who knows your needs. 😊
@babybump3 thats true but i think muscle relaxers are entirely way more stronger like she said it does mess with your nervous system where its numbing your muscles and every thing but benadryl its just for allergies and simple relief...besides those muscle relaxers can be addicting girl lol i had a couple before it felt like i was on cloud 9 lol
yes your doctor can give you flexiril i got it all the time with my last pregnancy
@phasion, OK
@emc229 yea I said that, but benadryl does the same thing right? (causes drowsiness etc)
Yes it is you just gotta ask your doctor first
No I wouldn't recommend to! Muscle relaxers affect your nervous system & can make you drowsy & feel effects that wouldn't be safe when pregnant. I would consult with your doc but I'm sure they'll recommend against it too. Before I was pregnant I was on muscle relaxers when I pulled my back... I felt drunk & out it the entire time. All I did was sleep & barely even used the bathroom to pee.
my back is unbearably painful, and the Tylenol is not working... I would have mentioned it to the er earlier when I went but the pain wasn't this bad ugh @phasion
@phasion, lmao my sister said that, that's why I really don't want to take them.. guess I'll just fight the pain till the morning... definitely don't wanna put my baby in jeopardy
