I have two fur babies and they are around our babies things I've even let them smell some of her toys and blankets. I don't plan on keeping them away from baby either.

don't keep him totally away...just help him understand a boundary between him and the baby

if you keep him totally away that will cause a "favoritism" and the dog might react...so just let him be around but teach him when its OK to be around and when its not..

I don't let him upstairs at all because the last few times he has peed and pooped up there so I don't let him go up there anymore he stays downstairs and he is getting use to not being on the couches its hard for him I can tell @babybump3

The best thing to do is have someone bring the blanket home before you come home with the baby so your dog can smell what the baby smells like then when you come home with baby start standing with the baby then sit down and let the dog smell baby. That way if the dog does act weird you can take precautions

that sounds more comfortable for me @santistevanmommie 😁

Yes that's what I'm going to do with mine because I have a pug and a pit this way I know how they'll act.

In addition to the other suggestions...Start practicing with a baby doll; carry it around as if it were your real baby (might as well practice now). I have been and my two fur babies are doing great. Whatever you do, do not try to keep the baby away from the fur babies...it will send them the wrong message and they could get aggressive.
