I'm 5 weeks, should I be concerned about quitting smoking? Could it harm my baby yet?

Slowly get off of ciggs I cut back 2 1 maybe 2 ciggs a day when I found out and now im completely stopped and have been since about 15 weeks and I found out I was preggers at 7 weeks . Its defiantly a hard thing to stop but its healthy for the baby to not smoke but my mom smoked with all 3 of us and we are all just fine although my brother and I had Asthma as babies but other then that we were healthy .

You want to try to cut back smoking and see if you can eventually quit. You don't want to stop cold turkey (really depends on how many years you've smoked) because you will put stress on yourself and the baby. See how much you cut back till maybe you'll not crave smoking anymore

I don't smoke that much. Maybe 10 cigarettes a day, since I found out I only Smoke like half every few hours. I quit for 13 days before I conceived...but anxiety screwed it up. I don't wanna hurt my baby so I've been lightly smoking.

@bby_jack you should definitely check with your Dr though. it may be ok to quit since your so early in pregnancy.

@bby_jack yes it would cause the baby stress. my old friends Dr told her if she quit smoking she could lose the baby cause of how much she smoked before she found out she was at like 9 weeks cause the baby would already be use to it. she's cut back but she still smokes.
