Okay I need some thoughts from you ladies..
I've been keeping my niece and nephew since summer began, well my cars transmission went out on mothers days so I've been stuck at home with a 6 and 7 year old and my four month old. My stepbrother only pays me 175 a week and they expect me to take the kids swimming everyday, how am I supposed to do that without a car? Keep in mind that they are selling a vehicle but won't let me use it. Well I was supposed to only keep them for two weeks and then the new babysitter would keep them, well the other babysitter fell through today which isn't surprising. But my question is, should I keep watching them for 175 or find something else unless the pay me more? I don't want to just toss them but I need to make more.

I would tell them you need a car so you're going to have to look for a job.

That kinda what I told them. I said that I needed a real job making more money, and I know it's s real job but I need to make more that they got mad and asked why I agreed if I was going to complain about the pay and I explained that now I would have to make car payments and all that other stuff, so I think they decided to find someone else.

From what it sounds like, it was suppose to only be a temporary thing, so its up to them to find something new. if you are wanting to work and look for a job, do it. let them know you can watch them until you get a job and then once you have said job, don't feel guilty.

Well at first it was supposed to be all summer, so I didn't worry about another job or daycare, then they said only two weeks and they keep changing it up on me.

still... being parents themselves, they should understand your position. if you need to look for a job to better support you and your family, then do it. letting them know you'll watch until you have a job give them time to look into other options. and for all yall know, it might take all summer to find a job.
