I asked earlier but no one responded. I went to a doctor last week, she said I was 1.5 dilated an 80% effaced. My doctor this week said I was 1 dilated and really hard!!! What does he mean by really hard? I find it odd that I'm still "really hard" after I lost my mucus plug on Friday.
Are there any effective ways & things I can do to help soften and dilate my cervix faster? At my appointment my doctor said I was MAYBE a fingertip dilated and 60% effaced.
My doctor said he would induce my labor at 38 weeks, if my baby girl still had growth issues and if the percentile dropped to 10 or less. Last thursday, it was 10 percentile, and he said if she didn't come on her own by 38 weeks, he would induce labor at that time. I'm 36 weeks 1 day today, he said my cervix was super thin, and 1cm dilated. Is there a possibility this can change... that my doctor will let her just come on her own? I don't want to be induced, i would much rather her come on her own when she is ready to come ! As much as I am anxious to meet her and have her home with me, those last few weeks of brain development and lung maturation means so much more to me! I'm hoping and praying that things turn around, and I don't have to get induced. I'm surely going to talk to my doctor about it Thursday when I go back.
UPDATE: Well i wemt back to doctor still at 5cm was sent back home my doctor said i havent dilated anymore so she said thats a good thing and she said she wanna induce me but she didnt because im 36 weeks so im dealing with pain until i hit 40 weeks witch i really hate but she also said if baby comes shes not gonna stop it so im just playing the waiting game while having contractions and still scard ima go in labor at home!!!!

He means effaced, my doctor sometimes referred to it is either one.

When I went to get checked I feel like the doctor can't get to my cervix, so I'm wondering if he doesn't really check it. 😫 in alllllll seriousness. Bc the nurse on OB had her whole hand up there an I could feel when she got there. I couldn't feel it when he said what I was.

I think men are more gentle when the check ur cervix, lol I know cuz while I was in hospital I was checked by at least 6different nurses. everytime they checked me on monitor they checked me cervix. And 2 of them were men. They were very gentle so I didnt feel when they were checking. I remember even when one male nurse checked and the lady doctor checked to make sure it was right and it was lol

No not my stomach. He puts his hands up there an says "Ya ur still a one and really hard!!!" So how could one doctor tell me I'm really hard an the next say I'm 80%? It just seems really odd to me. @lovelyadre and @kay80
