Isnt it traditional to have only 1 baby shower? I was taught that you dont have a baby shower for every child. But i find that a lot of people have one for each one no matter how close in age they are. Am i the only one who gets really annoyed when my friends push out babies every year and have a shower asking for or expecting/demanding gifts for every child they choose to have?
So idk if I’m an asshole for thinking this but a girl I used to go to school with is having her 3rd kid and she’s planning a baby shower and she had one with her other two. I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy. Idk I just feel like 3 baby showers is a lot! Especially when she gets things handed to her. Idk maybe I’m an ass for thinking that
Just read about how you only suppose to have baby showers for your first child. That's what I thought. No I'm not bashing no one cus I could truly give less of a fck, but yea I knew it was for only the one.

I really thought I was getting a baby shower and like no one has even thought about giving me one. This is my first baby i mean no one has to do anything for me I just at least thought they had plans for me and they don’t. They gave my uncle one because his wife didn’t want one because she already had a kid.And everyone got a baby shower and was giving one .But I guess it’s okay. I’ll do my own baby shower with my next child I just thought family planned a baby shower for you . Lol guess I thought wrong.
My MIL told me your not supposed to have a baby shower for your second child, only with your first, I've never heard of that????

I agree with @rachel8792 That's how we do it. like we are having a boy so I wouldn't expect a baby shower next time if its another boy but a girl then that's different.

I think if the kids are spaced out by a couple of years, it's OK to have a baby shower for each...but if they are popping a baby out every year than hell no lol...just my opinion tho

Eh I think its tacky if you do it for the same sex. We personally only do it if the gender of the second baby or next is different. So if I have a girl in a few years we would get another shower because its all girl things as opposed to boy

It's so tacky, and very bad etiquette. I'm okay with Sprinkle Showers (like a shower - but "light".) that way you can celebrate with family and friends, but not register and ask for/expect gifts. I went to one the other day, and it was super cute. It was "summer rain" themed (umbrella centerpieces, and cute rain boots.) and everyone just brought some diapers and had some food and relaxed. So much better than an actual baby shower.
