💞Huge reason NOT to be induced early or even after missing due date!💞 baby may not be ready!!😮
Read the article below; research is from "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences" performed by Drs. Carole Mendelson, Jennifer Condon and Pancharatnam Jeyasuria.
Labor is triggered when baby's lungs are ready! There is an SP-A protein that is produced when the lungs are developed... The protein binds to macrophages from the baby that are in the amniotic fluid, and the macrophages move and attach to the uterus. They then send a chemical signal that creates an inflammatory response otherwise known as labor contractions!

Oh wow, @coraanne! Those pitocin contractions are too hard and too close together. I've read it a million times now, but they don't warn you, do they?
All of my friends that have had babies in the last three years have experienced complications from being induced. A lot of the babies developed respiratory infections as a result of the doctors moving too soon, stripping membranes and whatnot. The NICU kept them for a week, some parents not exactly living in town and having to figure out where to sleep.
It saddens me when women are induced without having health issues. The longer the baby is growing inside the mother the more prepared the baby will be for the outside world. I went a week over my due date with my first and was induced and even though she was very healthy she came out so fast from the pitocin that her nose was bruised and she could breath or eat very good for three days. This time around I don't care if I go 3 weeks over, I will not choose to be induced.
@earthmama, yeah if I was fine then I would wait 2 weeks more. We waited 9 months, why not a week or two... ESP if they're healthy! So lucky not to have complications, they don't understand how painful it is
@mmmirage, sounds like a good reason. A lot of women just want to get it over with AND a lot of the doctors are looking at their watches going "ok, I'm ready for dinner already. Let's get this show on the road!"
I was induced and my baby is healthy thank god !!!! I had no option :( my health was really bad. My blood pressure was really really high all the time and I had preeclampsia
