Preggie psa for the day. This photo is shared with permission. Many moms, including myself with my first, don't know the importance of extended rear facing. The AAP recommends rear facing until at least two, or preferably until your child maxes out the rear facing limits of his or her seat.
Circled in this picture is the car seat that contained an 18 month old. She got out without a scratch. Both front passengers were severely injured. I implore all of you to make sure you look up the benefits of rear facing and make sure your seats are installed correctly and being used correctly each time we buckle them in. Auto accidents are the number one killer of children under 12, and I know we all want to keep our children as safe as possible.
