Did everyone's doctor send them for bloodtests to confirm pregnancy, if the urine test at the doctors office was…

I just had my first doctor appt on Monday. I'm 6weeks3days. I didn't even have a urine test done at this visit. She was just sending a form to the obs clinic and she said they will call me close to 12 weeks for my first visit with them... I was really hoping they'd send me sooner, but that's just how they do it if they don't suspect any problems...

didn't send me for anything just said "youre pregnant". and referred me to obgyn

In Alberta they send you for pregnancy blood work as soon as you find out you are pregnant, checking for hepatitis, HIV, your blood type, your MMR protection, all sorts of things that could affect your pregnancy. That's probably what is happening, I'm 26 weeks along and I had the same thing happen to me.

ok I'm still with my family dr until I'm 32 weeks then I go to obgyn. probably do things differently

they didn't send me for any,

he just sent me off to an obgyn :/

Yes I had an appointment after speaking with my family doctor to confirm if I was by ultra sound and it was at 7 weeks. No due date had changed for me since the beginning - it can for some women if they find at the next ultra sound it's a little older or younger then they initially thought.

When I found out I was pregnant, I had an appointment with my family dr to do a pregnancy test to confirm it before referring me to a obygn. My dr then schuduled me a dating ultra sound to figure out how far along I was & my due date! Then after that, I started having my monthly appointments with my obgyn! :)
