I am 19 weeks 3 days. Doctor believes I have gestational diabetes but he is unsure if it will go away after my son is born. I am admitted in the hospital for 24 hours at least but the latest I will be here is Saturday if the diet doesn't work for me. I have to prick my finger for the rest of my pregnancy. I now have mandatory appointments every Monday and an ultrasound once a month.
on the positive side. I got to see my son again :) he was not shy today!!! lol (see pictures lol)

Congrats on your little boy! Hopefully the diet and some exercise will work for you. I'm sure I have gd this time around too. So I'll be right there with you dieting and pricking my finger again for my blood sugar once I get further in my pregnancy. The best part is getting more ultrasounds to check up on your baby and seeing how much they grow. @dianne0825
usually gestational diabetes goes away as soon as you deliver the placenta unless you were at risk before for diabetes or had it and not known about it...I've been diabetic for years and it was difficult during pregnancy but with a lot of will power, monitoring, and communication with Dr everything should be healthy. my baby is very healthy and weighed 6 pounds 13 ounces at 38 and a few days gestation

I know how you feel. I have had gestational diabetes for the start. it's no fun but you get used to it. good luck. I hope they can control it with diet. mine couldn't :-(
