Tmi alert. My husband got herpes from his previous marriage. I told my baby dr the very 1st visit. They did and Pap smear and took six things of blood. Just a called and got my results and pap was good. They checked for hep b hep c hiv and clymidia but did not checked to see if I had herpes! I'm upset because I made sure that they knew my husband had it and they didn't even check for it! I asked her why and she said well if ur having a outbreak we can treat you for it! That was it. Now I was talking to a nurse not my baby dr. So what do I do now. I mean my husband was very upfront with me when we 1st got together and having herpes and I know that there is a good chance I will eventually maybe get it but I figured they would have checked

@cherylshaver1018, thanks so much. I do have something going on down there but hubby checked its not blisters and we have been together a year and a half and only started when I got with him
@hooper14, my husband doesn't have many outbreaks at all either. 😃 feels good to have someone that's kinda in my shoes. My dr also said that she would put me on the meds he is on also here soon just to be on the safe side
I just want to know if I have got it. I love my husband dearly and think no different of him. I know there is no cure I know it can be controlled. I do have something going on down there but it's not blisters I really don't know what it is and I'm gonna tell my dr when I go back
i have it from my ex that was a marine my oldman has it from hos ex wife. anyway normaly they can not check for it inless u have a outbreak thats how they explained it to me i have had it 5 years. if yall have not had sex while he has a outbreak. most likly won't. catch it.... if you have any questions u are more then welcome to messge me darlin
The only way to really get herpes is if you had sex while he was having an outbreak
Okay, I'm kinda in your shoes. I've never been okay talking about it! But I'm realizing there's more people on here that have it than I thought. I wanna try to help you. This is what I have learned in the past 2 days 😂. So, if you haven't had a outbreak, then I would really demand a test. Me, I've had it for 8 years, had one outbreak....nothing since. I wouldn't know if I had it. If I have it right now, an I'm having a outbreak, then I need a c section. But I'm sure you know a lot of times it's something that hides. So in your shoes, if you got your first outbreak while your pregnant, that's when you have a issue!!! It's a lot more risky if you haven't had a outbreak yet. I feel like it's something they need to look into bc you may need to start a medication at 34 weeks.

If you have it all they can do is manage it vs. cure it and why you got the response (most likely). Therefore, you can't pass it on unless you have an outbreak (even then % is low). Is thee something else you're worried about or you just wanted to find out?
I would call back and demand they check specifically for herpes.
