My mom keeps pushing me to give my baby cereal in a bottle so she can sleep longer during the night. A) My baby is exclusively breastfed and B) She is only 3 1/2 weeks old! Old skool vs New skool smh

My 5 year old daughter refuses to tell me the truth about stealing and eating my candy all she has to do is tell me the truth and she can get up and go play she breaking my heart but this lying about stuff is getting old
My August baby decided she wanted to be a May baby like her big sister. Madison Noelle was born on Tuesday, May 24 at 3:50pm, weighing 2lbs, 13oz and 14". She was born at 27 weeks and has a long road ahead of her. Every day she has been getting stronger and amazing everyone. Please keep us in your prayers, my family and I have a long road ahead of us. I think that is to young personally but if you do run it by the baby's pediatrician first...now that my daughter is almost 3 months I'm thinking of doing it but might wait until herbs month check up.

@eskawho, I think 3 months is a good time to introduce cereal and I completely agree, 3 weeks is too young. For now I will deal with waking up in the middle of the night to feed her

I think that's too early yet, and every newborn wakes up many times at night that's what babies are about lol eating, pooping, peeing. ..

definitely old school and it worked for my last 2.. it's not gonna hurt the baby just an ounce to every 4 don't lay the baby down to eat. happy baby happy mommy.. and no I wouldn't tell the Dr..

@mopace, were your last 2 breastfed? if so how old were they wen u gave them cereal and how did u do it?

neither one would take the nipple, I'm gonna try with this one... my mom gave both of the cereal less than 1 month.. and I never had a problem with them...they gained weight which the drs or wic never really questioned.. my daughter would drink abt 4-5 is and my son 6-7

babies that early in age are not meant to digest rice and cereal. id rsthrr feed him every 2-3 hours. some parents are lazy as hell and dnt want the responsibility of waking up that often to feed their little one

@missj_stephens, exactly! I keep having to remind my mom that this is my baby! like just because u did it one way, doesn't mean I have to don't the same. my baby sleeping through the night or not isn't really a big deal anyway because she's breastfed so either way I still have to get up to pump if she does sleep through the night. I tried explaining this to her, but she didn't get it lol

yup u hit the nail right on the gead explaining the pumping thing. dnt matter if they sleep 8 hours we still gotta get up to pump. u are doing great as a mommy dnt let anyone tell u any different
