yes, since he is the daddy he can stay over night if needed or wanted. (: I would bring some comfy loose fitting sweats too in case you get chilly. I'm sending you lots of love mama 💞💞💞💞💞💞

I would bring your phone, charger, something to keep notes and questions in, a book or iPad for entertainment and cozy socks. (:

They can check your A1C now for the last few months, it'll give you, a dietician and the doctors a better idea of what you need as far as nutrition and changes that can be made to better help your body adjust.

just relax mama I know this is hard and scary but you're a bad ass! you're creating a whole other human right inside you! you can do this.

@dianne0825 you will be fine just go in there with a positive mind and be ready for all of the information they are about to give you. I actually had a class on gestational diabetes with the diabetes department and the information I'm giving you I received from them. Everything will be GREAT!

I hope so. what has me concerned is the nurse didn't say I have GD she said I have diabetes and I know they are very different so I'm hoping it was just a slip of the tongue. anyone know what I should pack for the hospital? @fallwithautumn @azmommy85

All they going to do at the hospital is start you on the medicine and show you what to eat and what not to eat. I was in the hospital for about a week with the same thing even though I also have a placenta previa. They will not look at your A1C until after the baby is born bc the diabetes can go away after. Gestational diabetes is different from Type 1 and Type 2. Yes you can have diabetes after the baby is born but they well take all the necessary steps to check to make sure. They want to monitor your blood sugar to see if the pills or insulin will be the best fit for you. I started off with the pills but it started increasing my blood sugar so now I'm on the insulin and if have improved a whole lot. Just get ready for them to prick your finger a lot and check your blood pressure a lot.

Honey sometimes we get it because the Placenta can be in the way so we can't absorb all the sugar. It'll go away as soon as the baby is out. You didn't fail as a mom. Just think that you'll be eating healthier for you and your baby. A little diet and exercise is ok. You'll be eating more veggies, you can use Truvia for tea, coffee or oatmeal. Also another good sweetener is agave. You'll want to be careful with fruit, no cereals, very little milk (fat free if you have a craving for it) if you do bread do 100% whole grain. You can do a little peanut butter etc. Just way smaller amounts. You can do this mama. @dianne0825

hmm that's really not that bad ...you should insist to have your A1C looked at as well!!

I've never heard of them putting someone in the hospital to see if it can be changed by diet, they usually just give mom a meal plan, a blood sugar monitor and then give her a dietitian to help guide her and wait a month to see of it helps.

You'll probably see a nutritionist and they will explain to you that you'll have to eat healthier. Low sugar low carb foods and you'll have to test your blood sugar after every meal. It's not that bad honestly. I had gd my last pregnancy when I failed the 3hr test too. It has taught me so much with eating healthier and better for myself. (things you thought healthy that really arent) I'm pregnant again and I'll have to do the glucose test again once I get further along. You'll be OK hun. If you have any questions just hit me up ☺

because I've gained 7 pounds in 2 months is what I was told as to why I had to take it early but I honestly don't think that's the full story @fallwithautumn
