I've never had it done (I'm only 30 weeks FTM), but a lot of my friends have had it done and some say it's a little painful, but most say it's just uncomfortable. In my opinion, I'd rather have that done and possibly start labor than have to be induced.
that's what I'm thinking my boyfriends mom said she got it done with her second and went into labor the next day but then she got it done twice with her third and nothing happened I'm almost 40 weeks I want him out he's a big boy I don't want to have to push out a 10pounder lol @jacksonsmommy8715
@mamabearholland, it can be a bit uncomfortable but in my opinion it is much better than having to be induced. When you are induced with the artificial hormone pitocin, it causes much stronger and more intense painful contractions. A good suggestion is light exercise after being stripped..Do some walking.
I was 40 weeks and 2 days and my doctor sweeped my membranes and said if you don't go into labor on your own then come in the next morning. Well around midnight I started having contractions and leaking my amniotic fluid. Being a FTM I didn't know I was in labor so I waited until the time I was supposed to go in and I was at 8 cm. The doctor broke my water and told me to start pushing no pain meds or nothing. I pushed from 7:30am to 8:01am and I had my baby boy Hayden (: @mamabearholland Sorry for the paragraph lol. Just some insight from a STM.
You're welcome! I hope so (: And it does make you cramp and spot a little but it's not excruciating. Now labor is a different story lol @mamabearholland
