Well that's good! It sounds to me like you would be able to do it on your own. Although he can't really just sign his rights away..it takes a long time and he basically has to abandon the child first and not see him for a certain amount of years before the court lets him do that. So he would still have to pay child support for a while! But good luck, I hope you make the right decision for you and your son. Just my advice but I would talk to him first and let him know you're considering leaving. Maybe if he sees you're seriously done with his bullshit, he will change. Most men will keep acting like boys until they're forced to grow up or see that they're about to lose all that they love.

@queendavis, yeah he's the baby's father. Not that he does much for him. I rent my house off my dad so my rent would be really cheap and I'd apply for assistance if I needed it. I also believe that it's better to be in a separated house than one that is unhappy. I'm sure I'd get good child support but I imagine that if push came to shove he would sign his rights away which would be fine with me. Thanks :)

That's how I feel... There's nothing worse than feeling alone and trying to make things work. In the long run I know that my baby boy's life would be best without his father, but it breaks my heart knowing that my baby's father could be so heartless

Is he your sons dad? He will be ordered to pay you child support, depends on where you live but probably somewhere around 500-750 a month depending on his income. Also government assistance can help you with daycare costs for your son while you work. There are definite options for you so don't think that you're stuck. Also, in my opinion it is better for a child to be in a happy home with separated parents rather than being in an unhappy home with parents together. Good luck girl.

U can do it I have a 3 year old and do it with him it brakes my heart I'll be doing it with two kids but I don't care any more

@lizamadeo21, it's seriously the worst feeling ever. I love him alot and before the baby I wanted to marry him. But lately he's horrible and spiteful and mean and I just don't wanna deal with it anymore. I for the most part take care of our son by myself anyways so the only difference is I would have to figure out how to work more to make more money.
