For the past few weeks when I lay down to go to sleep I get almost instant "nasal congestion "and can't breath through my nose. It doesn't feel like an "allergy" congestion. More like someone is pinching my nose closed! Anyone else have this issue? It's only when I lay flat. Either on my sides or back. When I'm propped up I can breath fine!
I hate the shortness of breath combined with nasal congestion like wtf really?!?!
@mommykiwi, @tracynangel @caracross1 I'm glad I'm not alone but at the same time wish I was because yall don't deserve to have to go through this! It's horrible!!! I tried sleeping propped up. Hell no that wasn't working! What's weird is when I'm falling asleep I can't breath through my nose. So I just find a comfy spot And breath through my mouth! But when I wake up. I can breath through my nose just fine... I woke up to pee twice. And both times was breathing through my nose! And was able to breath through my nose when I was going back to sleep. But when I initially lay down for the night i HAVE to breath through my mouth. It's so weird!!!!
@danibanani, thanks! It does! And I can only fall asleep on my back! But I haven't had any breathing issues or pains! My nose will be like that even on my side! :/
@bentleyandmommy, the strips hurt when I rip them off! So I probably won't use them!
I've had it this whole pregnancy. It sucks, I don't sleep much because of it.
When you lie on your back, the weight of your uterus presses on the major vein that returns blood from your lower body to your heart. Lying on your back for an extended period of time could make you feel dizzy or cause you to have trouble breathing. It could also interfere with the flow of blood and nutrients to the placenta and your developing baby and lower your blood pressure. I was always taught that when transporting pregnant patients to never have them flat on their backs for that reason. Hope that helps!
I couldn't use the strips they never worked so I just dealt with the dry mouth
@jeanfear, really!? I'll have to try one! Because i hate feeling like I'm suffocating every time I try to go to sleep!
@bentleyandmommy, I try to breath through my mouth. But then my mouth gets so dry. I wake up and I'm gulping down water. Which in turn makes my stomach hurt and keeps me up peeing even more than usual!
it's normal during pregnancy. you just have to sleep propped up or breath through your mouth.
why when I lay on my back its hard to breathe 😔😔😔

Yay for migraines I have them almost everyday, sometimes with nose bleeds sometimes not. Today my nose bleed was so bad it was pouring out of my nose and I couldn’t breathe and was choking on the blood going down my throat. This is after it calmed down.🙃
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
It never fails, every time I lay down within 5 minutes my nose is stopped up and then I can't breath. Is this normal? I'm not sick, this had been happening for about the last 4weeks or so.....
@tracynangel, right!
