for mommies who had to take an antidepressant while pregnant such as Zoloft did it cause any defects to your child ?
I feel like a bad mommy having to be on it
Okay no. Don't stop taking them. Anti depressants are important. It's safer to risk it honestly than to come off of it and be a depressed mommy that's dangerous for you and baby. And Paxil is the major one with problems. Zoloft and Prozac mostly fine. They just have to have that disclaimer just so you know. I'm on Prozac, a pretty high dosage, and I was worried about my baby's health. But you gotta worry about yourself because if you're depressed, you can't be there for your baby and make the right decisions like you should. It's so much better to stay on them <3
that's what my home nurse is worrying about my post partum depression ... today I shut down bc I've been off my meds since january
Zoloft is fine, & a lot of pregnant women have been prescribed it for their depression, I didn't take it while pregnant & I should have, I had horrible post partum depression.
50mg is a really low dose, I take 125mg once a day and I was worried about it as well but the way my OB put it " if you aren't taking care of your own health you can't take care of your little ones." This includes mentally. I tried to go off my meds and I couldn't function at all. So I understand completely what you are going through. @sammyjo4life
he put me on 50 mg once a day bc I made it clear I didn't want to be on meds but he thinks it be best for me to be on it but I'm having my doubts
I've been on Zoloft this entire pregnancy, I have extreme ptsd, along with severe depression and anxiety. There aren't any reported issues unless your taking over 200mg a day (which the max dose is 200) for an extended amount of time. My OB cleared it for me to take. If you are concerned just ask him/her. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here.
I have really bad ptsd ... and a lot more mental meds and yesterday i scored a 12 out of 12 which means they want to keep a good eye on me ...
he put me on Zoloft .... I'm 21 weeks pregnant it's not good for him if I'm too stressed and I feel like I'm letting him down bc I wanted to be able to go until he was born without my mental meds
To be honest I would stay away from pills try healthy method such as yoga getting a massage or small vacation to get your mind of things .....not all women get the same result with medication ...pregnancy is about being natural as possible .... only if you have a serious medical condition then yes that's understandble. ... but pills and stuff I recommend to stay away
I took Prozac. Little man came out with no problems. I heard Prozac reported almost zero problems
