I'm not dead set against am epidural but I also am going to try not to get it. I was totally shocked that they asked me at my very first appointment of I was going to get an epidural.

When I was shopping around for an OB, I let her know I wanted to try for an unmedicated birth, and she said something to the effect of "Oh, that's great. I've had lots of mom's go unmedicated, but sometimes there's just no point in torturing yourself...".

I told them I wasn't sure and they said that they could wait till the NEXT appointment for me to decided and I was just thinking how bout we wait till I'm in labor or about to go into labor.

they didn't ask again and I didn't bring it up. I really don't want to decide until I am in pain and I know whether or not I can handle it
